☮ Merry Christmas! ☮

I’m now 1 month into my creative break, and to be honest, it’s taken that long for me to disconnect from work.

I had to unsubscribe from so many e-mail newsletters and other work related feeds just to sharpen my focus. A task that’s still ongoing.

Immersed in my music, I wrote several new tracks, reinforced my understanding of music theory and notation, while learning to play the piano.

I dedicated more time to the outdoors and developed a deep appreciation for nature’s wonders. The photo above, taken locally, lacks the taste and touch of the misty winter air and blinding sun I felt on my face that morning.

It’s only when you venture out more often that you realise so few get to enjoy such beauty these days.

Of course there are downsides to taking a break from work, lack of money being the biggest, especially near Christmas.

Not buying the latest synth or plugin has been a struggle, but rewarding at the same time.
