It’s been just over 2 years since I launched Ableton Live and hit some pads on the Push 2.
So when I finally had a day to myself, the first thing I did was spend half of it updating Windows, Firmware and VST’s, before plugging a couple of mics into the Tascam and taking a few recordings of some toys and dropped objects scattered in the lounge.
It didn’t take long for me to find my focus, and after manipulating a couple of samples, I found myself smiling at 3 minutes of an ambient track.
Sounding similar to my other work, I think I’m going to carve out some time to get back into the groove and incorporate some guitar effects pedals I managed to pick up recently. You never know I might have just found my sound.
The main thing is that I like the end result, and although it’s not polished (when are my tracks ever polished!), it definitely feels like there’s more to come…
